Dear IFES Families,

Now that we are in remote learning mode, Ms. Erin (Rice Counselor) and I will be delivering social emotional lessons via our google classroom. Although completing the lessons/activities are optional, students are encouraged to complete them to best of their ability!  The link to our Google Classroom (where all activities will be housed), is listed above. It is suggested in the Continuity of Education Plan that students work on these assignments on Fridays, but the lesson material will be available all week for students to complete at their leisure. Our plan is to focus on topics that reflect what students are currently experiencing as well as topics that may help initiate or support conversations at home.

In addition, I will have daily virtual office hours. The link to my Office Hours sign-up genius pages is also listed above. Students and/or parents can sign up for 15-minute time slots to meet with me regarding questions and/or concerns. I will continually check my school e-mail and phones messages. Please know that I may not be able to answer questions related to school operation. For that information, please refer to information that is posted by the school district. Please know that links to general resources are listed below.

Internet Access

The importance of internet access is especially apparent during this difficult time when schools and workplaces are closed due to the Coronavirus.  In response, Comcast announced that they will increase the speeds of their Internet Essentials service (from 15/2 MB to 25/3 MB) and offer the service free of charge for 60 days for new Internet Essentials customers.

Families interested in getting the service can sign up at or call 1-855-846-8376. New customers will get a free and easy to use self-install kit by mail.  Current customers don’t need to do anything to get the speed increases.  The full announcement can be found here.
